CONTENTS

The course consists of 3 modules:

Module 1: Binary logistic regression model for binary outcomes
Module 2: Poisson and negative binomial regression models for counts and rates
Module 3: Survival analysis (Kaplan-Meier plots, log-rank test, Cox proportional hazards models) for time-to-event outcomes

Module 1: November 23 and 25, 2022 from 13:30 till 16:30
Module 2: November 30 and December 2, 2022 from 13:30 till 16:30
Module 3: December 7 and 9, 2023 from 13:30 till 16:30

The course and/or module(s) will only be organised in case of a sufficient number of subscriptions. If a module is fully booked or has already started, please sign up for the waiting list to express your interest for future editions.

VENUE

Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Campus UZ Gent, Corneel Heymanslaan 10.

The exact location will be announced later. Most likely this will not be a pc-room, so participants should be able to bring their own laptop and have access to SPSS via Athena (eduroam connection required).

LANGUAGE

The course will be given in Dutch, but the slides are in English.

SOFTWARE

Both the point-and-click interface as well as syntax will be used in IBM® SPSS® Statistics Version 28 (available on Athena).

PREREQUISITES

Participants should have access to SPSS (either installed on their computer or via Athena)
Basic statistical knowledge is required (e.g. how to interpret a p-value)
Similarities and differences with linear regression will be mentioned, so it is an advantage to have experience with multiple linear regression

For external or UZ Gent personnel

Each individual module: €180
Complete course: €540*

*If researchers register for two or more complete courses within the same academic year, a reduction of 20% on the course price is taken into account starting from the second complete course.

For participants outside UGent: upon request

DOCTORAL SCHOOLS

The complete course can be recognized as a Specialist Course (and funded) by the Doctoral Schools of Life Sciences and Medicine. Individual modules can be recognized as Transferable Skill, cluster Research & Valorization (not when they are already part of the Specialist Course, only one Transferable Skill within the cluster Research & Valorization can be funded by the DS). Requests for funding need to be submitted at least one month prior to the start of the course.
