Blue Opportunity and Networking Day

International collaboration enables researchers to access additional, often specific, expertise, gain new perspectives on research and build relationships with others in the field.

To highlight this importance, Marine@UGent, VLIZ and partners welcome the 3i University Network cluster for Marine and Maritime Challenges at Ostend Science Park to discuss opportunities for collaboration with scientific partners on site. To mark this event the new collaboration agreement between UGent and VLIZ will be inaugurated and the various multidisciplinary research infrastructure in Oostende will be presented.

The site 'Halve Maan' in Ostend is a valuable nature reserve with a striking amount of military heritage. Here you will find remnants of the Atlantic Wall, the 5000 kilometer long German defense line along the North Sea coast during WW II. However, this small site (approx 4.2ha) is home to various types of blue economic activities

During the Blue Walk we will explore these together with you.
